Meet Your Therapist 

Jessica is an experienced pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist(SLP) who completed her graduate studies at Emerson College. Jessica has worked with children of all ages and adults over the course of her career. Jessica has always had a passion for helping children communicate effectively, and her role as a pediatric speech therapist has allowed her to truly thrive in her niche. She consistently goes above and beyond to develop personalized therapy plans that suit the individual needs and interests of each child. Her ability to connect with her young clients and make therapy sessions engaging and enjoyable has resulted in significant improvements in their speech and language skills. Outside of her professional life she enjoys cycling, traveling, and spending time with her husband and children. Spending quality time with loved ones, sharing memorable moments, and nurturing those precious connections gives her a sense of fulfillment and purpose.

  • Importance of Early Intervention

    The primary benefits of early intervention speech therapy is that it prevents the compounding effects of untreated speech and language difficulties. Without timely intervention, children may experience academic difficulties, struggle with social interactions, and face self-esteem challenges.

  • Early Intervention Therapy-BabyNet

    Children 0-3 years of age may qualify for free early intervention services through SC early intervention program.

  • What is a language Delay

    A child with a language delay aka late talker are children who have reached the age of 18 months and can’t speak more than 10 words. Late talkers understand spoken language and are usually developing typically with other skills such as play and motor development.

  • Skills Needed Before Words

    1. Imitates actions, gestures, and sounds

    2. Babbles, uses vocal play

    3. Initiates interactions with others

    4. Reacts to sounds in their environment

    5. Share attention

    6. Responds to people’s communication attempts

  • What counts as a word

    1. Words & Approximations (sound like the word)

    2. Sign Language

    3. Animal and other environmental sounds

    4. Exclamatory words

  • How you can help your child

    1. Self Talk: Describe the action you are doing as your child watches

    2. Parallel Talk: Describe the action your child is doing with your own words

    3. Choices: Select 2 or 3 objects, model choice and allow your child to choose (verbally or by use of gestures)

Are You Ready to Get Started with As we speech Therapy?

We provide speech & language consultations to schools, day care centers, parents, and other professionals. Our team of certified Speech-Language Pathologists is dedicated to helping your family understand and remedy speech and language needs.

Step One

Complimentary 15-minute phone consultations are designed to discuss concerns and determine the best course of action based on your child and family needs. 

Step Two

All formal evaluations include patient/client interview, informal observations, standardized assessments, and full diagnostic report. Evaluation results determine the need, type, frequency and duration of therapy rendered.

Step Three

Therapy is highly individualized, focusing on your child’s learning style while targeting your child’s areas of need. Appointments are 45-60 minutes and include direct therapy, parent education, progress updates, and home practice activities.

Insurance & billing

As We Speech accepts private pay clients. We also accept many forms of Medicaid including, Absolute Total Care, Healthy Blue/Blue Choice, First Choice/Select Health and Molina. We do not accept private insurance, but are able to work with children eligible for BabyNet services.
